With New Hampshire's first in the nation primary
under attack, Victory NH has
launched a statewide
effort with Secretary of State, Bill Gardner, to
protect our primary!
To build on this growing
grassroots campaign (with the help of Saint
Anselm
College, Franklin Pierce College, and the
University of NH), we're proud to announce
our Friends of the NH
Primary
Program, an effort to…
bring
together college and high school students with the
business, political, and community leaders of New
Hampshire
to educate the country at large as to
the importance of
New Hampshire's first in the
nation primary.
Though a series of
internships and part-time positions, college and
high school
students from across the state will
work with us to:
- Research the
history, significance, and impact the New
Hampshire Primary
plays in choosing our
Presidents.
- Interview local and
national candidates, business leaders, opinion
makers,
and
elected officials.
- Broadcast New
Hampshire's "case" for being "first in the
nation" through articles, blogs, letters
to the
editor, podcasts, and video essays.
- Collaborate with
college leaders across the state to organize and
direct college and high school
outreach
programs, Protect Our Primary meetings, petition
drives, and Internet campaigns.
- Produce
issue-oriented forums and debates with leading
political thinkers, policy makers, pundits,
and
presidential candidates.
This education-oriented web,
print, and ground campaign (focused on facts
rather than the
usual partisan bickering) is a
unique opportunity for students to help protect an
American institution.
The Friends of the NH
Primary
Program offers students the
exciting, first-hand experience of being
part of
an issue-oriented campaign — a campaign designed
to demonstrate the value and efficacy of
genuine
citizen activism.
The result?...
- Students across our state
will learn both the importance of the political
tradition they are helping
to protect, as well
as their role as American citizens to
respectfully hold their leaders to account.
- Members of the national
media will have an ongoing opportunity to
continue their support for a
process they have
long supported, while passing their experience
on to the next generation of
journalists and
opinion makers.
- And every presidential
candidate that crosses our border will learn the
facts about the NH primary
and why it would be
detrimental to our country to weaken it in any
way.
We know it is likely that you are
flooded with “opportunities to give” daily, but we hope after
spending
some time reviewing the terrific work of our
Primary Defenders, you will deem us worthy of
your support…
