Given the
seemingly endless confusion about when
and how
New Hampshire's Secretary of State, Bill Gardner
will decide
the date for the New Hampshire Primary,
we thought it time
that we
layout a few facts...
1st... NH will follow its State law...
"The
presidential primary election shall be
held on the second Tuesday of March or on a Tuesday
selected by the Secretary of State which is 7 days
or more immediately preceding the date on which
any other state shall hold a similar election, whichever
is earlier, of each year when a president of the
United States is to be elected or the year previous."
- New Hampshire
State Law 653:9
2nd... NH's Legislature has given our Secretary of State
sole authority to set the date of our Primary
3rd...
No political party, candidate, or committee will
persuade, convince, or cajole NH to
dishonor our tradition
4th...
We will honor those who defend our tradition...
